What is "Cookie Law" ?

The ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC ("Cookie law") requires users’ informed consent before storing cookies on a user’s device and/or tracking them by display banner with the short information notice and consent request. The Cookie Law banner technical requirements are:

  • You should ask users' consent before storing cookies on a user’s device
  • Provide link to dedicated cookie policy page (or to your privacy policy)
  • Use plain, clear language to briefly explain the purpose of the cookie usage

The title for you banner. For example: "Cookie Notice".
Use clear and jargon-free to inform users why you ask their consent.
The confirm button label. For example: "I agree" or "I understand".
A link to dedicated cookie policy page or your privacy policy. For example: "https://mysite.com/cookie_policy.html".

The background banner color. Default value: #000 (black)

The button background color. Default value: #03a87c

The banner text color. Default value: #f2f2f2
Name of cookie that stored on user's device to keep his choice. For example: "cookie_consent".
The cookie expiration date specified in days. For example: "5" for five-days.
Restricting cookie access per domain. For example: "mysite.com" or ".mysite.com" for sub-domains support.
